Elbur Bath & Baby.
Britta and Arvind wanted a new primary bath for their Lakewood home. The original room was too small to fit both a larger shower and free-standing tub, so we reworked the layout and borrowed space from the hall and adjacent office. The vintage-inspired design compliments their home while still feeling updated. Five different tiles were used to create the black and blue checkered floors and striped shower. The clawfoot tub, brass details and shape of the soapstone backsplash are nods to the past. Vintage accessories and art were sourced both locally and from afar.
As we were finishing the bathroom, Britta and Arvind found out they were expecting Samiha so we quickly shifted to designing the adjacent nursery. Mixing patterns and creating a healthy balance of new and old were part of our initial concept. The floral curtains Britta constructed with her family became a focal point and the graphic rug incorporates contrasting color and pattern in an unexpected way. The gallery wall, side table, shelving unit and many other details are primarily vintage which will allow Samiha to appreciate them for years to come.
